AFROPUNK has announced AFROPUNK DC to happen August 6th at an undisclosed location (RSVP for the exact location,) the next stop on The Most Wicked Party Event Series in conjunction with Redd's Wicked Apple and Mango. Fresh off of a highly successful AFROPUNK Chicago featuring performances by Danny Brown and Hannibal Buress, AFROPUNK DC will host performances by Living Colour, Thundercat and DC natives Black Alley. Redd's Wicked Apple is continuing its partnership with cultural collective group, AFROPUNK, to curate the events that merge the multi-dimensional worlds of urban alternative music, art, food and technology.

Additionally, AFROPUNK will be creating content specifically for DC, as they do for all their events, called Born To Be Different. The DC stop, hosted by Rosemary Fiki will feature acclaimed DC visual artist Cita Sadeli Chelove and the great Chef KPE.

It takes guts to stop a high-profile recording session in its tracks to tell your bandmates the unvarnished truth when everything is on the line. But that is what Will Calhoun did near the end of Living Colour's latest studio sessions.

Will wanted the sound of the band to be faithful to the legacy of the group's earliest recordings. In this story we learn how he has faithfully recreated the sonic palette that is true to Living Colour, as well as explore how his adventures in Africa have expanded his vision and performances over the years. Will Calhoun will perform in "The Way of the Rain" as a special event for the 2015 Sundance Festival in Park City, Utah.

"The Way of the Rain" is a live multidisciplinary art performance inspired by the life sustaining annual monsoon rains of the fragile southwest high desert plateaus. The Way of Rain comes to life through paintings, music, dance, film, light and spoken word.

The event will be held on January 26 and 27 — Will's performance date will be announced.
